West Palm Beach still not hot to sell tract yet

Despite getting a $750,000 offer, the city’s not ready to pull the trigger and sell a tract to a local church, commissioners said at Monday’s work session. The Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses proposes building a 5,000-square-foot building, with a separate 800-square-foot rectory, at 3100 Australian Ave., a block in from Lake Mangonia. The 2.1-acre property, which is zoned recreational, had at one time been considered for Fire Station 3, which later was built elsewhere.
